Hello everyone
I've got CentOS7 which by default comes with version
cups-1.6.3-29.el7.x86_64. However, I would like to use the latest
version 2.2.5 which I downloaded, extracted and did: ./configure and
then make, make install.
Now in /etc/cups, I can see these files
-rw-r--r--. 1 root root 319 Jun 22 2015 paps.convs
drwx------. 2 root lp 6 Aug 3 19:40 ssl
-rw-r--r--. 1 root lp 186 Aug 3 19:40 snmp.conf
drwxr-xr-x. 2 root lp 6 Aug 3 19:40 ppd
drwxr-xr-x. 2 root root 6 Aug 3 19:40 interfaces
-rw-------. 1 root lp 0 Aug 3 19:41 printers.conf
-rw-r--r--. 1 root lp 0 Aug 3 19:41 lpoptions
-rw-r--r--. 1 root lp 0 Aug 3 19:41 client.conf
-rw-------. 1 root lp 0 Aug 3 19:41 classes.conf
-rw-r--r--. 1 root root 1029 Oct 5 11:04 cups-browsed.conf
-rw-r-----. 1 root lp 3091 Oct 5 11:04 cups-files.conf
-rw-r-----. 1 root lp 408 Oct 18 14:35 subscriptions.conf.O
-rw-r-----. 1 root lp 408 Oct 18 15:34 subscriptions.conf
-rw-r-----. 1 root lp 4552 Oct 18 16:24 cupsd.conf
-rw-r-----. 1 root lp 2944 Oct 19 11:06 cups-files.conf.N
-rw-r-----. 1 root lp 2944 Oct 19 11:06 cups-files.conf.default
-rw-r-----. 1 root lp 6273 Oct 19 11:06 cupsd.conf.N
-rw-r-----. 1 root lp 6273 Oct 19 11:06 cupsd.conf.default
-rw-r-----. 1 root lp 142 Oct 19 11:06 snmp.conf.N
-rw-r-----. 1 root lp 142 Oct 19 11:06 snmp.conf.default
The files ending with .N are the ones created by the new version, so my
question is:
If I want to start using the latest version would it be sufficient for
me to just rename
cupsd.conf.N to cupsd.conf
snmp.conf.N to snmp.conf and
cups-files.conf.N to cups-files.conf ???
Many thanks
Yani
