[cups] printer accepts job but doesn't print ubuntu canon pixma G2100

hello,
I am trying printing to a canon pixma g2100 in ubuntu, through CUPS.
this is the CUPS setup for the printer:
Description:Canon G2000 series Location:cesar-pc-ubuntu Driver:Canon PIXMA
MG2100 - CUPS+Gutenprint v5.2.11 (color)
Connection:usb://Canon/G2000%20series?serial=15B8A4&interface=1

but when I sent a job, it is accepted, processed, but the printer does
nothing (well, it blinks while accepting the job).

this is the last part of a long error_log where I can't see any relevant
error. looks like the printer accepts the job normally but then does
nothing.
