Just for information:

Still available is 
www.sunfreeware.com
which contains a lot of (precompiled) open source utilities, but
for some Solaris versions support on this platform has been abandoned.

A new platform,
www.unixpackages.com
has come up which provides open source products for 
a variety of UNIX(like) platforms, but requires a subscription fee.
