I asked thsi question because Peppermint 9 does not install cups-browsed
and I wondered how it got on the system. Assuming it was on the system
was a mistake and I now see why it was wrong.

When you mentioned the driverless utility of cups-filters my thoughts
turned to an auto-installation of an AirPrint printer by cups-browsed.
In fact, I now realise you installed the printer using the CUPS web
interface; at least I think that is what you did. CUPS version 2.2.7
offers only driverless; everywhere doesn't come with the web interface
until 2.2.7.

I am assuming Bob is talking about an IPP printer and auto-discovery
with cups-browsed.
