According to your error_log, the first filter called is
commandtops
which processes only the following commands:
AutoConfigure
PrintSelfTestPage
ReportLevels

As the Clean command(s) are specific to the printer and the PDL the printer understands,
a 
*cupsFilter
statement in the PPD is required which specifies the commandtowhatever filter 
for the document type
application/vnd.cups-command
