[cups] Taking forever to print a test page

I've configured my printer in the CUPS administration screen. So I chose the "Print Test Page" from the Maintenance drop down, and it has been in the 'processing' state for nearly an hour.
I could not find any logging mechanism in the UI to indicate the nature of the problem.
