        I would like to know if it possible to set my own Job ID when submitting a print job. I have an application (written in Java-1.4.2) that will be printing reports using lpr and I would like to later (asynchronously) check status of a job-ID which I intend to make easier by setting the job-ID to a unique protocol ID that I keep for the files I will be printing.<BR>

I am using cups-1.1.22-0.rc1 in Redhat 4.5.<BR>
