[cups.general] upgrade ppd-file ?

That won't do it, the Mozilla output checks the internal PS
interpreter version.  (although why it has this particular check
isn't obvious...)

Your best best is to create a PCL queue using the laserjet.ppd
file and use that to print from Mozilla at this point...
