CUPS always uses raw driver

Thanks for the response Till.
The ppd file passed as expected.

I have the same issue if I install it as an Epson printer too.

I have built cups from source, 2 different versions, and the problem still exists so I assume that it must be some library file that is giving me the grief.

I have the same problem on another Fedora 3 machine that I just checked.
