To avoid misunderstandings:
The URLs below are meant only as examples so that it is easier for you
to understand what I think what should be described.
Of course feel free to make the CUPS manuals as you think it is best.

An overview which describes the different technical items and terms
and how they cooperate like for example
http://portal.suse.com/sdb/en/2004/05/jsmeix_print-cups-in-a-nutshell.html

A description with examples and the possible pitfalls how to set up
a network printer or a printer with a printserver-box (e.g. prefer
TCP socket if possible, avoid IPP or LPD implementations in network
printers and printserver-boxes) and what is the difference between
a queue on a CUPS server and a queue on a network printer or
on a printserver-box (filtering vs. raw).

A description with examples how to print from a CUPS system
to Windows printer shares like for example:
http://portal.suse.com/sdb/en/2003/11/jsmeix_print-smb-90.html

Descriptions with examples how to print from a CUPS system
to queues on other operating systems (e.g. MAC OS, old-style Unix, ...).

A detailed description with examples how to print from Windows
client systems to a CUPS server.
In this case it is very important to describe the various
possibilities how to filter the data and how to send the
data to the destination like for example
http://lists.suse.com/archive/suse-linux-e/2004-Nov/1186.html
note the URLs at the bottom regarding the Samba-HOWTO.

A description with examples about the various methods of setting options
and the default queue and the possible pitfalls like for example
http://portal.suse.com/sdb/en/2002/11/jsmeix_print-cups-options.html

A detailed description with examples how to enhance the standard
CUPS filtering system with selfmade filters like for example
http://portal.suse.com/sdb/en/2003/06/jsmeix_print-cups-filters.html

A detailed description with examples how to enhance the standard
CUPS backends with selfmade backends.
One of the more often requested backends is the
"write-into-a-user-dependent-file" backend for example to
set up a PDF-queue which doesn't print but produces PDF files.

What I think what is most important are descriptions about
the general "what is going on". I.e. not a description which buttons
to click or which commands to enter but a description which describes
the different technical items and technical terms and how they cooperate
to result the desired printout (i.e. the background information).

Kind Regards
