page_log big ID gaps, missing jobs

Well, CUPS is doing a great job on the printing side - but the contents of page_log leave a lot to be desired.

I'm printing Postscript to it (using the Adobe driver with linuxprinting.org's PPD for the printer), which CUPS then renders (via Ghostscript and HPIJS) into PCL for the two printers (HP LaserJet 1160 and 3550 respectively). *Some* print jobs appear in page_log, but far from all - any ideas why? Any ideas how to get this feature working?
