Howto print

Pretty Basic problem...
o cupsd is running
o I can access printers,jobs via http://localhost:631/
o test page works fine
but now what?
I'm trying to print from Mozilla:
o lpr spins then nothing
o no jobs waiting
o service start lpd - won't
o I've used xpp in the past
What to I have to do to setup a spooler?

I'm Linux Redhat 9.0. Gnome desktop doesn't
seem to be able to talk to any print managers.
'setup/printers' doesn't seem to help....

lpstat says:
Printer 'missingprinter at localhost' - cannot open
connection - No such file or directory
Make sure the remote host supports the LPD protocol

I need a list of stuff to check....
