Does the /etc/cups/ppd/yourprintqueue.ppd file exist ?

If yes is this file readable by the user who launches cupsaddsmb ?
(I suppose you should do this as root anyway)

This is unrelated. PyKota will happily work even if your printer
doesn't have a PPD file, and whatever driver you'll use on the
client.
