Howto configure generic text only printer

Hello

I'am using cups in ubuntu.

I want to configure a generic text only printer.

My printer is a serial printer used for printing simple text tickets.

I use ser2net to provide the printer aviable in network socket (it does the same as a jetdirect)

I configure the printer with the port :
socket://127.0.0.1:9100

and i try a file textonly.ppd i've found on the net.

it doesn't work !

if someone have a tutorial ???
