[cups.general] cupsd very high load time

Hi all,
   i'm using cups as a normal printing manager (version 1.1.23) on
gentoo linux operating system.
It is two days that i'm experiencing very high load time (10 secs.) of
the printing options both using the web-based manager (localhost:631)
or via the KDE printing manager.

Any ideas of the cause of this behaviour?
