Yes. But shouldn't I install the a printer on Windows by clicking the "Add Printer" wizard?
I think yes. How do Windows know that there is a new printer on the server? This printer should do what? I think I should configure this printer on the Windows side as a networked printer (ipp or http) with a postscript driver. Isn't that correct?
Now when I print from Windows to this printer it is supposed that the Windows driver
will convert to postscript and spool to the virtual printer on the server with the wrong job name (which the virtual printer corrects).

But the problem is that the file never reaches the server. It stays on the Windows machine.

Let me try again. But what do you see in the above setup that sould not be done, or done in a different way? From your answer I understand that I miss something. I have not understand something correctly.

When everything was working except for the erratic job names the printer on the server was configured as an efax printer which is essentially a postscript printer with its own backend.
