One point that the above article leaves out is that Gentoo is by design a
mininalist system.  It only gives you a small required base Linux install
and lets you deside specifically what additional packages you want to have
installed.

Another point is community support. IMHO Gentoo is the best Linux ditro as
far as that goes.
