OK, I have run the command
lpoptions -p K550 -l

On my desktop I get:
lpoptions: Destination K550 has no PPD file!

But if I do the same on my laptop (where the tab is visible) and for the same shared printer I get some output about paper size and a lot of other stuff.

So it looks like my desktop computer can't get the PPD properties, but the laptop can. What could be different on these clients? I can't see any IP setting in the cupsd.conf on server that would treat desktop (192.168.0.2) differently than laptop (192.168.0.5 or 192.168.0.6). So I guess there is something on the client computers that make the difference.
