Odd multi page problem from iSeries

Hi Folks,

I've been tearing my hair out trying to sort out a problem. Sorry this message might get a little long but bear with me.

We have just upgraded our CUPS print servers from a 1.1x release to 1.2.7. The servers are configured with roughly 30 printers, all configured as RAW and job queuing is handled via cups-lpd.

Client machines are 99% windoze machines with a couple of iSeries (AS/400) thrown in for good measure.

First off the Windoze machines work perfectly, including multiple copies! The problem I'm having is with jobs from the iSeries, all of which go via cups-lpd to the same queues as the Windoze boxes.

If I print a job from the iSeries and ask for 1 copy only everything works. If on the other hand I ask for more than 1 then the job arrives at the cups server and sits in the 'processing' state forever.

Looking in /var/spool/cups I can see the 'cXXXXXX' and 'dXXXXXX-00X' files (one D for every page requested). Example of both at the bottom of the file.

We start our cups-lpd via inetd specifying the -o option for 'raw' queues.

The iSeries output queue is configure to send LPD to the print server, formating the output as PCL, you can see the added PCL code in the example.

Prior to upgrading (full fresh install) to 1.2.7 i.e. a 1.1x server the iSeries jobs worked perfectly.

I have tried using the 'Octet-stream' -o for cups-lpd, the result is still the same.
