Adding a PDD File / Driver

Good day all,

I am trying to setup CUPS to allow for my printer to be shared.

It is a Samsung CLP-300 color Laser Printer.

By Default there is a Linux driver included on the CD that came with the printer.

It is a USB printer, and when I go to add a printer in the CUPS admin, it is recognised correctly on USB1, but the driver is not included in the CUPS repository of drivers.

There is a setup.sh file that runs the graphical installer for the printer, and I have been having hit and miss on several Distro's (Kubuntu,Fedora,Debian Sarge & Etch) all fail either completely, or the driver installs, but I get blank sheets of paper from the printer. Freespire I was able to get a test page printed.

My question(s):
1. is it possible to install/add the included PDD file so that CUPS will recognise the driver.

Thank you

Andrew
