cups + gsprint = test page quality is bad, print from application is blank

Hi,

I got a Dell 3010cn laser color. It only supports GDI. Confirmed by
Dell:
http://lists.us.dell.com/pipermail/linux-precision/2007-March/001130.html

I configured the Dell driver on a Windows machine, with ghostscript and
gsprint + redmon, so that I can actually see it as an lpd from my cups
server (running on Debian linux).

The thing is : I can "Print a test page" from the interface :
http://cups-server:631/
It does print the expected page. Good ! :)

However :
1/ Firefox from a Linux machine, pointing to this cups printer,
only prints a blank page : What's wrong ? Should the cups daemon
   filter it somehow ?
2/ The resolution of the test page is rather poor. Looks 300dpi to me.
I tried to add "-r600" in the gsprint.cfg file: The only thing that
changes is the "Resolution : 600x600dpi" text, but it does not look
better. May be cups somehow "downscaled" it to 300dpi before sending
it to the windows server ?

Thank you !
Flavien.
