[cups.general] Prints Only One Page, No Matter What...

Printing to a Gestetner DSc622u with the PCL driver,
and I need to print 500 copies, but it only ever
prints one at a time.  I've tried 50, and I've tried
5, and it only ever prints one.

Any idea why?

(Debian Etch, Cups 1.2.7-4)
