Howdy Y'all;

I can't seem to figure out how to print from my old Mandrake Linux PC (Linux Mandrake release 6.0 Linux netserver.medsamerica.com 2.2.9-19mdk #1 Wed May 19 19:53:00 GMT 1999 i586 unknown) to my spanking new Ubuntu Linux PC (Ubuntu 7.04 Linux Michelle 2.6.20-16-generic #2 SMP Sun Sep 23 19:50:39 UTC 2007 i686 GNU/Linux)

# lpr -Php4 bua.sh

/var/log/messages shows:
Oct 25 20:59:49 netserver lpd[24165]: lp: no filter found in printcap for format character 'd'
Oct 25 20:59:49 netserver lpd[24165]: lp: job could not be printed (cfA761AJPMBYC)

[root at netserver ~]# lpq -Php4
netserver.medsamerica.com : waiting for michelle to come up
Rank Owner Job Files Total Size
1st    root       0    bua.sh                                389 bytes
connection to michelle is down

/etc/printcap contains:
hp4|hp4|Remote HP4 printer on michelle: \
        :sd=/tmp/hp4:\
        :mx#0:\
        :rm=michelle:\
        :rp=HP4:

I set cupsd.conf to log debug2 and I got no more information. I "Set Allowed Users" via http://localhost:631 but that hasn't helped. And I can't find any detailed indication on PC Michelle of why she's refusing PC NetServer's advances.

Any suggestions you have are much appreciated,
Dale E. Moore
