Cups not there. No menu options no printer

> Help. I have completely lost all cups function. It was working a few days ago till the (ubuntu intrepid) file system disk filled up after I corrected this my printer had dissapeared along with any access to cups.

I have tried removing and reinstalling cups. tried reinstalling the recent build listed in downloads. tried instaling an earlier version but I still have the same error as above.
please help.
