I still have not been able to print to my USB printer,
still looking for help.

Meanwhile, I finally upgraded glibc from 2.3.2 to 2.7 and also kernel to 2.6.24.7

I recompiled cups-1.3.6 to see if it would help, and now I can't print to the parallel port.

I don't see any errors, or any clues as to what is wrong.
The job says it is processing, and the printer is ready.
