same printer multiple queues, jobs not printing

I am running cups 1.1.23 connected to a hp2200 network printer using ipp. I have two queues (one for each tray) set up in cups. The problem I am having is that when jobs are sent simultaneously to both queues, one of the queues will then 'freeze'. After the job for hp2200t1 clears, the other job, for hp2200, sits there in this 'now printing' state. It will finally print if i disable/enable the queue, or after some elapsed number of minutes.

Any ideas on how to prevent this, or to automatically detect this?
