CUPS(Samba,Raw,JetDirect) SLOW (slower than windows)

This was measured on HP Color LaserJet 2840, but the other printers (Epson AcuLaser C900, HP DesignJet 500, Kyocera KM-2050) seem to be slower as well, I will do the test page on them and report.

And thank you for the hint, now going to experiment with pxlmono.
