CUPS not working

After almost 12 months of almost faultless performance CUPS has stopped working. I have a home network with with 2 printers connected to an old box, an Epson RX 630 and an HP Laserjet 1320 the clients are a desktop(wired) connected to the server (wired) and a laptop (wireless)through a netgear wgr 614. The guys at the mepis site do not have an answer so I am trying here.
