[SOLVED]cups "/usr/lib/cups/filter/foomatic-rip failed" error

Found the problem. The ./configure of min12xxw-0.0.9 put the driver in /usr/local/bin and I guess cups was not finding it. Putting it in /usr/bin solved the problem.
