[cups.general] Choosing a monochrome laser printer

I am curious why you have problems with printing to a canon.  We have several canon machines and have no problem printing to them.  We have to set them up as an lpd with a local spooler named print.  After doing that correctly we have no problems.

The setup:
/usr/sbin/lpadmin -p $1 -E -v lpd://$2/print -m laserjet.ppd

Where $1 is your queue name and $2 is your IP address of your Canon machine..

The end result:
device for ACCTNG: lpd://10.7.1.40/print

Can you recommend sites for linux-specific reviews?. I currently use a Canon (as a network printer) but it's not smooth sailing on CUPS (even after installing a dedicated CUPS driver from their website).
