Print job is not displayed in print queue

Hi,

I have snow leopard machines configured with Dell 3130cn printer using lpd approach.

If I give print from any applications , print job is going to Printer directly without going through the
Print Queue.

I want to hold the job without pausing Printer Queue.

Why my print job is not going through the print queue.
Or how can I manage print jobs.

Any help would be appreciated.
