Hi Swadesh,

What distro are you using?  Is it Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5?  If so, 
then Red Hat Bugs 524250[1] and 592962[2] may describe the same thing as 
what you're experiencing.  This was resolved in the latest version of 
ghostscript for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.  The errata that describes 
the resolution can be found at 
http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHBA-2010-0646.html.
