Hello,

I'm the maintainer for the Canon backend on the gutenprint project.

Since you're trying to use the gutenprint drivers (version please? I
would expect it to be either 5.2.8 or 5.2.9), please write questions
and report results to the gutenprint mailing list:

gimp-print-devel at lists.sourceforge.net

Since the driver is untested, and the Canon wireless stack also may
need debugging, please try with USB cable first. The driver to use
would be the one for the MG6200, of which family the MG6220 is a
member.

At first, it is important to try the plain media resolution modes. So
please test all the following modes on a page containing colors (not
CUPS test page, as I am not sure if correctly handles all options):

1) 600x600 DPI HIGH
2) 600x600 DPI
3) 600x600 DPI HIGH duplex/Env/Hagaki (you will need to activate the duplex printing option here)
4) 600x600 DPI duplex/Env/Hagaki (you will need to activate the duplex printing option here too)
5) 300x300 DPI

The problems you might see which each mode can be quite different, so
please describe any problems as clearly as you can. For example, black
prints perfectly, but the CMY colors are stretched in the horizontal
and not overlaid with each other. You could also take digital photos
of the outputs and send it to me (aikishugyo at my gmail account).

Below is deferred to experts on CUPS:
