Let me mention here: I have taken some .pdf files that the
wonderful Lilypond music type-setting software made for me,
and they print just fine. The .pdf that I sent to Helge and
Johannes is (part of) something I got from the IMSLP music
	  repository.

Should I therefore report this to the Canon _printing_
support team? I have had some dealings with them, and
indeed I am using what Canon gave me.

In general, Canon should be persuaded to work with
the CUPS team here. I am sure that you folks have
done your best. I wonder if a Linux user campaign could
induce them to pay attention. I mention here that
Canon _printing_ is a lot more helpful than Canon
	      _scanning_.

In the meantime, does anyone have further suggestions?

TIA for anticipated help!

Alan
