[cups] Remote print works only from windows

Do you mean, connect the laptop to the printer using a USB cable?

That's how it should be.  You should set up a new ipp:// queue to connect 
remotely over ethernet, using your Ubuntu cups http GUI.

Check the Ubuntu logs.  It should say there what's wrong.
