[cups] Cups CLASS printing

We are looking to configure class print queues to provide high availability to our warehouse printing.  One observation made is that when a class printer is offline the job is successfully re-queued on the next printer but, the failed printer is not marked "offline" or "paused."  Does anyone else have a different experience?   If the printer was marked offline future prints would execute more efficiently in addition,  the RSS feed would also alert us to the print failure.

We are currently running CUPS 142 I it did find the contimeout option to override the default timeout however, this setting is not triggered under all error conditions.  Looking at the socket.c the default timeout is 1 week but, in some case the timeout would never trigger and exit.
