Now its late Friday night, I'm still on stretch and its still not
working, and no reply?

Cups is now so determined to prevent this printer hardware from ever
being used in a different profile, that Wednesday it even removed the
proper choice of drivers from that menu while starting with the add
printer menu, and I had to search the filesystem to find the correct
driver. Little did I know that it was fixing to overwrite a great
profile for printing a photo on glossy photo paper from tray one, with a
2 sided duplex profile using duplex rated paper from tray 2.

There has to be a reason cups is doing that. And there has to be a fix.

Wednesday when I first posted, it would present the printer as a choice
in the add printer menu. Tonight, its even locked this printer out of
its search for printers. So I can't even select it for a new profile. I
can modify this one, no problem.

So what is the real problem?, and what is the real fix?

Thank you.

Cheers, Gene Heskett
