[cups] New desktop cannot connect to printer

It finally occurred to me to look at the logs.

All attempts to print a test page or document are recorded as successful.
Hm-m-m-m.

So, now I look at the printer. The cat5 is snug at the printer so I moved
the other end (at the switch) to a different port. Tried to send a test page
and "The printer is not responding."

Just printed the self test/configuration page. The TCP status block is
relevant:

The JetDirect card is ready but no packets have been received, only 1 sent.

So the CUPS logs indicate data are going out and the printer's self test
says it's ready and willing. Everything worked last week from the old
desktop before it died Friday night and I assume the cat5 cable is still
good.

I'm stymied.
