The openprinting database tells me that Postscript is optional for this 
printer (and then it *is* level 3).
For the non-PostScript version the PPD specifies conversion to pcl-xl
(aka pcl6). You "simply" need to install foomatic-rip on your MacOS X
box (try to get the version 3.xx one; that is easier - no compilation
needed) as well as a fairly recent version of Ghostscript (the latest 
is 8.70).
