Johannes, do you know exactly which models do not support 300 dpi, one 
should exclude the 300 dpi for them in both Foomatic (for the old GS 
drivers) and Gimp-Print.

Or should I make all 600-dpi-capable Canons use 600 dpi as default, so 
that most users do not perceive that 300 dpi does not work?
