[cups.general] cups1.3 issue on Itanium

Hello,

 

I have cups1.3 installed on one of my Itanium11.23 servers and I'm
attempting to add a new printer. Each time I try it prompts me for the
root password, I enter the details and it does not log me in. I have
reset the root password, tried a different account and still it does not
allow me to log in.

 

Can someone suggest on how I can resolve this please?

 

It was working a while back as I was able to add a couple of printers!
