> I 'm trying to configure my gentoo desktop running cups 1.3.8 to print to a HP officejet 4255 attached to a windows vista PC using hpijs-2.8.6b, LPD or Samba. The problem is that the job is sent to the winbox (no warnings from the gentoo side) but it then stucks in the winbox printer queue. The printer starts its procedure to print (align the cartridges etc) but when it's time to feed the paper it stops and the job stays forever in the queue, no error/warning messages produced. I 've tried printing both us-ascii text files and pdf/ps files with no luck.

The only strange thing that I noticed is that in the windows printer queue , in the 'size' column there is a 64KB/675K value. Is there any possibility that CUPS doesn't send the job in full? If so, is there any option to define some sort of persistent connection?
