CUPS shows print completed but no print?

I have a Canon MX860 running on a wireless network.  A desktop running Vista has no problem printing.  I have CUPS set up to print from a laptop running puppy Linux.  (wireless internet on theis same network works on the laptop.) CUPS found the printer complete with correct IP address during set up.  When I send a print file, it will show as pending then completed in CUPS but nothing actually prints.  Any suggestions?
